| The K-Series is one of the biggest reasons we wanted to offer T+A components in our shop. Built, from the ground up, with a very specific concept in mind, the K-Series represents one of those rare occasions where superb engineering meets head on with brilliant ergonomics and gotta-have style.
The concept is a deceptively simple one: create an all-in-one component as the de facto heart and soul of a system, then max out the performance to put the lie to the audiophile myth of "the more boxes the better". Case in point - the T+A K6 DVD Player/ 5.1 Surround Receiver (shown right), a near-perfect melding of the best in both video and audio technologies. |

The T+A K6 What makes the K6 our favorite new component isn't just that it sounds great or has a demonstrably better DVD picture than we're used to, (though both of those are true), but that it's all so seamlessly implemented. A single hand-held remote control gives you access to every function be it input selection (i.e., CD/DVD, built-in tuner, set top box/TV, VCR, Tape, or Aux), or surround sound set-up and calibration (there's even an included microphone that is part of the completely automatic channel balancing system!) The K6 features a cool menu screen that flips up into position when the unit is powered up and has a large enough read-out to be seen easily across the room. The rear panel (shown above) gives you an idea of just how comprehensive the K6 is. Speaker outputs are divided between the five surround channels (at 80 Watts per channel) as well as a lower power left and right channel pair that can be set to either track the main inputs or not (powering a seperate pair of speakers in another room perhaps). The list of features goes on and on, but you probably get the idea by now - the K6 is a stylish, brilliantly engineered, amazingly flexible component that can be your complete stereo/home theater solution. Come give it a test drive at the Tweak Shop soon! |

The T+A K1 Now, if Home Theater isn't your thing (or you're just looking for a great "traditional" stereo system or secondary system just for music), the K1 is the ticket. |

| Though not as radically styled as the K6, the K1 is just as much a technological marvel. Underneath those clean, understaed good looks is an excellent CD Player, FM Tuner, and Integrated Amplifier, even including an active subwoofer output.and headphone output! The sound, as you'd expect, is clean and musical. Need we say more? Highly recommended! | ![]() |
